✅ roach?
A downloadable roach for Windows and macOS
For MI 445 project 1. Instead of doing the tutorial, I created an online team vs. team multiplayer game where one team assumes the role of roaches and the other of exterminators. Suggested player amount: 2+ (preferably divisible by 2 so as to form 2 teams of the same size).
Three major features of the game are:
- Team vs. team multiplayer
- In world UI, with character creation screens
- 4 Tools and 1 Roach abilities (all network synced)
Controls:
- WASD - Player movement
- Left Shift – Run
- V - Voice Chat
- Number keys (1-4) - Select tool
- Left click – Use the tool that is in your hand
- E - Eat food as roach
- Mouse - UI interaction

Install instructions
Multiplayer:
One player has to select 'Host' and provide their IP to others (IP can be found on websites like https://whatismyipaddress.com/ ). The Host should be a hunter (as they are a "load-bearing" player).
All clients will have to input it into IP Space (right below "Join") in this format:
127.0.0.1:7777
In this example, "127.0.0.1" is the IP, and "7777" is a commonly open port (I suggest using it).
IF THAT DOESN'T WORK TRY:
Joining the same network (Note: "MSUnet 3.0" and "MSUnet Guest 3.0" are different) OR using software that simulates being on the same network, such as LogMeIn Hamachi https://vpn.net/ (very good and free, but it's old).
If that doesn't help, all the people who are trying to play could launch the game as admin.
If that doesn't work, you might have to manually open your ports (such as "7777") in your firewall. (Should fix the problem even if only host opens the port)
If all of that did not work, try all of it at the same time.
If you want to join yourself, just press "Join"; that should work.
Most of the stuff I used can be found here (It's mostly Art):
